Mauveduh Designs was born from a love for art and expression and it’s relationship with whimsy and humor.
After spending a lifetime exploring a variety of media, from painting, pastels, and etching to computer graphics, printed materials, writing and Web design, Mauveduh discovered the beauty and pleasure of working with the many dimensions that beadwork offers. Captured by the vibrant colors and multifaceted crystals, a freeform of sculpture was discovered through incorporating wire to delicately define the piece and elude to a transparent volume.
The flexible medium translated to a variety of forms including jewelry and accessories.
An education in fine arts and visual communication lead to a career in the software industry, integrating technology with design, that greatly influenced the medium of expression. It has come full-circle, working with handcrafted materials, after the transition to a digital form. The wire has come to represent the industrial feel of technology and the beads symbolize the organic nature of its counterpart.
Experimentation lead to the discovery that the beautiful colors in these beads could be strategically placed to paint a picture that transcended the canvas. The wire framework lent itself to sculptural forms of discovery and spontaneity. The delicate structures evoked a humorous response. They seemed to exude fun and frolic and demanded a curious smile from the viewer, if only due to a perplexed curiosity.
Mauveduh designs is about the process of creativity. It begs the right to question and relish the sense of not understanding, but finding enjoyment in seeking and discovery. This is freedom and expression in motion.
